Krogman Quarter Horses and Paints is a family operation located in the heart of Western South Dakota.  It is headed up by Blaine Krogman and his wife Louann, with help from their children. Since 1976 these horses have been raised by family, with a strong hand and a love of both horses and the land that is generations deep. 

Horsemanship comes naturally as Blaine is the son of Clarence Krogman, the third generation to grow up loving these rolling hills and the strength and beauty that is the western quarter horses and paints.  Growing up on working ranches helps to train the quality horses bred here right as they learn every aspect of the operation from chasing a cow to bringing their rider home after a long day’s work.  It’s been a long symbiotic relationship between horse and rider that you can only find on the Dakota Prairies.

As they always do, over the years, things have changed. In 1982 Blaine married Louann Simpson. They welcomed their children, Hilary, Haley, and Kirby, into their lives over the coming years. Our family has continued to grow with Hilary marrying Evan Nesheim in 2011. That union has brought Nash, Newt, and Renna to bless our lives. Haley married Peter Gallant in 2015 and that union has blessed us with Capri and Kendi. As the kids got older they became more interested in the ranching operation and also became more help. Today, all three children and their families live close by and are very active in the ranching operation as well as the horse business. Having another generation to teach the way of life to has brought us all lots of joy. Clarence passed away in 2013 at the age of 103, but his legacy and work ethic continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
